INTRODUCTION
While Internet search engines perform many useful functions their
ability to provide quality, current information quickly can be
criticised. Intelligent Agents seek to overcome many of the shortcomings
of traditional search engines and this new half day course provides a
basic introduction to them.
The course covers the different types currently available; their uses
acting as an intermediary; their ability to undertake updating searches
on a regular basis and potential future role.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
learn how intelligent agents work
learn how their structured sensible and intelligent approach helps
improve your information service
evaluate the products/systems presently available
gain understanding through "hands on" and demonstrations
This course will make use of Netscape Navigator and Win 95. Delegates
should already be familiar with the World Wide Web and have a basic
understanding of search strategies.
