ANBAR and CHEST announce long-term partnership to deliver access to Anbar
Management Intelligence, Computer Abstracts and International Civil
Engineering Abstracts.

ANBAR and CHEST have reached agreement for the provision of Anbar Management
Intelligence, Computer Abstracts and International Civil Engineering
Abstracts to eligible institutions for a fixed five-year period starting on
1st January 1999. Institutions can decide to join at any time during the
term of the agreement and will be bound until the end of the agreement
period.
Nigel Lodge, Director of CHEST, said "These are three products from MCB for
which CHEST has negotiated terms which are fixed for five years. The
products enable the academic community to have electronic access to an
additional wealth of specialist fulltext article and abstract information in
a number of subject areas. Institutions will be able to provide access to
content with full search capability at the desktop."

Anbar Management Intelligence has long been seen as the UK's leading
management abstracting service, and International Civil Engineering
Abstracts and Computer Abstracts are highly regarded world-wide and have
been abstracting for over twenty five and forty years respectively.
The combination of ANBAR's high quality content and editorial resources and
CHEST's ability to deliver excellent technical solutions and support,
long-term price stability and organisation-wide access will give the Higher
and Further Education Community in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands
valuable new ways to access the world's computer science literature."
CHEST and ANBAR are delighted to have negotiated the following excellent
agreements, which are open to Higher and Further Education in the United
Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and the Netherlands:
Anbar Management Intelligence
For a fixed annual payment of 2,700 pounds sterling for Higher Education
institutions or 1,500 pounds sterling for Further Education institutions,
access will be provided to Anbar Management Intelligence on-line and as a
CD-ROM database until 31st December 2003. For an additional 3,000 pounds
sterling per year a block of document delivery "credits" can also be
purchased to pay for documents ordered via ANBAR's document supply partner,
The British Library.
Anbar Management Intelligence abstracts every article published in an
accredited collection of more than 400 English language management
periodicals. Areas of coverage include: accounting and finance, information
management and technology, the management of quality, marketing and
logistics, operations and production management, human resource management
and strategic management. The database currently includes more than 60,000
abstracts and several thousand book and resource reviews. Further material
is added on a monthly basis. Major service features are as follows:
* three CD-ROMs per year with full database archive (1989 - date)
* online database, updated monthly, with full database archive (1989 - date)
* document delivery service, via The British Library, for full-text
retrieval of every article abstracted in the database
Computer Abstracts
For a fixed annual payment of 1,000 pounds sterling for Higher Education
institutions or 750 pounds sterling for Further Education institutions,
access will be provided to Computer Abstracts on-line and as a CD-ROM
database until 31st December 2003.
Computer Abstracts abstracts every article published in an accredited
collection of more than 200 English language computer science periodicals.
Areas of coverage include: hardware, computer systems organisation,
software, data, theory of computation, mathematics of computing, information
systems, computing methodologies, computer applications and computing
milieux. Major service features are as follows:
* three CD-ROMs per year with full database archive (1993 - date)
* on-line database, updated monthly, with full database archive (1993 -
date)
* document delivery service, via The British Library
International Civil Engineering Abstracts
For a fixed annual payment of 750 pounds sterling for Higher Education
institutions or 500 pounds sterling for Further Education institutions,
access will be provided to International Civil Engineering Abstracts on-line
and as a CD-ROM database until 31st December 2003.
International Civil Engineering Abstracts abstracts every article published
in an accredited collection of more than 150 English language civil
engineering periodicals. Areas of coverage include: construction management,
environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic engineering,
professional/educational matters, structural engineering and transport
engineering. Major service features are as follows:
* three CD-ROMs per year with full database archive (1972 - date)
* on-line database, updated monthly, with full database archive (1972 -
date)
* document delivery service, via The British Library
