This looks like a very impressive resource - covering a wide range of
funding sources worldwide. All countries, all subjects. I haven't
used it in anger yet so I can't judge the indexing or interface.
Unfortunately it is only available to subscribers, but you can
request trial access.

Subject: COS Funding Opportunities Update
Community of Science, Inc. (COS) has just released a new
version of COS Funding Opportunities. This database, which
contains over 14,000 opportunities, is the largest database of
pre-award funding information on the World Wide Web. The
most recent features along with its comprehensiveness make
COS Funding Opportunities the single most powerful identifier
of funding opportunities worldwide.
WORLD MAP INTERFACE
We have added a map interface to COS Funding Opportunities.
Select "Search by country" from the home page
(http://fundingopps.cos.com). Click on a continent and a list of
countries in that continent appears. When you choose a specific
country you are presented with a customized home page for that
country. Each country's page includes the following options:
Funding for citizens of that country
Funding to be conducted in that country
Search for funding worldwide
When you search for funding for citizens of a particular country,
the citizenship requirements are automatically set to that country.
You may also select unrestricted or unspecified citizenship.
When you search for funding to be conducted in a particular country,
the activity location field is automatically set to that country. Several
other options are available to select including unrestricted and/or
unspecified location.
You may also choose sub-entitities and super-entities of that country.
Sub-entities refer to any locations that are a part of the larger entity
selected. Super-entities refer to larger geographic or political groupings
that the specified location might be a part of. For example, if you
choose Canada as an activity location, sub-entities would include all
the individual provinces. Conversely if you select super-entities,
North America and other NATO countries will be included in the
search.
ENHANCED KEYWORD BROWSER
The new keyword browser provides you with direct access to the
COS controlled keywords used to index each funding opportunity.
The new browser can be accessed in two different ways:
>From the COS Funding Opportunities home page at
http://fundingopps2.cos.com/ you may select "Main search" which
takes you to the search interface. Scroll briefly to "Keywords" and
select the Browse button. A new window will open which contains
twelve major discipline headings. To include a top level heading in
your search, simply click on that heading. To view the subcategories
under a major discipline heading, click on the folder to the left. The
subcategories appear in red. You will notice that you can break down
some of these subcategories even further. To select any keyword, click
on it and it will automatically be added to the main search interface.
The second way to access the keyword browser is to select the "Search
by Keyword" option from the home page. This allows you to open the
browser window directly. Keywords are selected just as described above,
and are dropped automatically into the main search interface.
We have also included a search box within the keyword browser. If you
are uncertain where in the keyword hierarchy to look for your term, simply
type your term in the "Search" field. If the keyword is in the
browser you will be referred to the appropriate location(s) within
the hierarchy. You can then select the desired term in the lower
frame to add it to the main search interface.
