VINE: Call for papers
VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES and Information Services
VINE, published quarterly by LITC, at South Bank University London, is a
respected journal covering all IT applications in libraries and
information services. It provides timely and definitive overviews of
important topics in the field. VINE's intention is to publish
informative, well-researched writing that will be of immediate practical
use to its busy, influential readership.
We are planning a special issue of VINE, on the theme of Virtual
communities and information services. Here, 'Virtual communities' might
mean: any computer mediated communication such as discussion lists,
MOOs, Web pages, conferencing, computer supported collaborative working
etc and including teleworking.
Several authors have already been identified, but we would be
particularly interested in articles on:
* Experiences of choosing an electronic conferencing system, and/or of
using it either as a tool for internal management / team building or to
support users
* Use of EI Village or ChemWeb or similar.
* Views from outside the UK
* Information Professional's eye view of NETIES 98
