Apologies if this is a little off subject for the list but I'm not sure
where else to turn!
I've recently had an enquiry about suitable PC-based software for basic
library management. Briefly, the organisation is a county local history
society with a large collection of (40,000) books and (many)
periodicals: there is a correspondingly large card catalogue. The first
step would be to transfer the card catalogue to computer. Ultimately,
I'm advised, they want a system that would be "reasonably cheap,
relatively simple to input and use, but fairly user friendly for
retrieving information".
Any suggestions, folks?
