The British Library offers these three courses in December:
Health Care Economics, Statistics and Management
Tuesday December 8th
This course is presented by ten leading consultants and information
specialists from such organizations as the Office for Health
Economics, the Kings' Fund and the Office for National Statistics. The
course is aimed at NHS financial managers, academic researchers and
healthcare librarians. It is aimed at health care purchasers,
providers and information professionals.

Sources of Health Care Information
Friday 11th December.
Featuring a number of expert speakers, this course is designed to
introduce researchers and information workers to a wide range of UK
national health care sources - including demonstrations of printed
materials, CD-ROMs, online and Internet resources. Sources of Health
Care Information is ideal for anyone who needs a basic introduction to
the types of data available and to information searching techniques.

Making the Transition: Converting to PubMed and Internet Grateful Med
Tusday 15th December 1998
This new course introduces the search techniques employed to search
National Library of Medicine databases using these two free web-based
interfaces. It includes which databases are available for which
interface, how to search and how to print. The course is essential for
anyone who wants to take full advantage of the free availability on
the Internet of all the NLM databases.
