PROJECT RESEARCH OFFICER
6 MONTH POST
ACADEMIC-RELATED RESEARCH STAFF GRADE IA: Salary u15,735 - u23,651 p.a.
Applications are invited for the post of Project Research Officer to the NMET Library and Information Strategy Project in the Health Care Libraries Unit, University of Oxford. The Health Care Libraries Unit (HCLU) co-ordinates and facilitates resource sharing among member libraries of the Health Libraries and Information Network (HeLIN), and manages the Library of the 21st Century programme across the Anglia and Oxford health region. The post is available full-time for 6 months and is funded by Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire Non-Medical Education and Training NHS Consortium.
The project will develop a five year library and information services strategy for the Consortium identifying the main elements necessary to achieve the recommendations of the HSG (97) 47, take Bucks and Northants health care libraries into the 21st Century and provide equity of access for all professional groups to the knowledge base of healthcare.
We are looking for an information professional with a degree in information science or librarianship, with good communication and research skills and knowledge of the health care environment.
Based at the Health Care Libraries Unit in Oxford the post will involve some travelling within the Oxford NHS Region. A clean driving licence and use of a car would be desirable. Full travelling expenses are provided. The post is funded for 6 months.
