Lecturing Vacancies
Three posts are available from September 1998 in a Department offering
innovative undergraduate and Masters courses in Information and
Library Management, Records Management and Information and
Communication Management. Its Communication Unit also offers
specialist units across the University. It is one of the leading
departments in research with a growing body of research staff and
students, gaining a 3a rating in the last Research Assessment
Exercise.
Two posts in Information Storage and Retrieval Team
Senior Lecturer
(Two years fixed term) Ref: A15/98
Required during a period of secondment to 31 August 2000, to
contribute across the team. You will be expected to take
responsibility for areas of information storage and retrieval in a
electronic environment, including bibliographic standards and
services, and networks.
Lecturer
Ref: A16/98
Required to contribute across the team, with a specialist knowledge in
access to information sources and services, particulalrly oline
systems and internet resources. Professional experience is essential;
experience of information work in a commercial environment is an
advantage.
For both these posts you should have a higher degree in an appropriate
discipline, preferably by research. Relevant professional experience
is essential. Teaching experience, preferably in higher education, is
an advantage, and is essential at the Senior Lecturer grade.

Lecturer
Ref: A17/98
Required to teach on specialist courses within the department, as well
as on a wide range of communication units to various disciplines
across the university.
A degree in an appropriate discipline togther with a teaching
qualification is essential; a relevant higher degree is highly
desirable.
Salary: Lecturer £14,648 - £23,123 p.a.
Senior Lecturer £23,350 - £2,518 p.a.
