PROJECT MANAGER

PADS, one of five subject-based data service providers in the Arts and
Humanities Data Service (AHDS), with responsibility for management of
digital resources in the performing arts, seeks to fill this senior
appointment. It is for a well qualified, pro-active, individual, with
experience of operational management and project development. Duties
include representation and promotion of the Service, advising upon
standards, servicing an Advisory Committee, report writing, design and
delivery of training materials and supervision of junior staff.
Applicants should be graduates, preferably holding a postgraduate
qualification, with at least five years work experience in a relevant
performing arts, library, archive or information technology
environment. Awareness of current developments in the description,
archiving, preservation and distribution of digital resources is
essential, together with the ability to work productively with
academic staff at all levels.
The appointment, initially for the period to September 2000, with the
likelihood of subsequent re-appointment, is available from January
