Aiming for Peak Performance
COURSE DATES: 12.05.98 & 24.11.98
A one day workshop on performance measurement
INTRODUCTION:
Measuring the performance of both people and services is a key element
in today's management skills portfolio. For library and information
services, both large and small, techniques have progressed far beyond
the simple gathering of statistics. This one day intensive course gives
delegates the opportunity to consider the wider aspects of performance
measurement such as its role in planning and developing both services
and staff. But, perhaps more importantly, it also enables participants
to develop specific measures to suit their own service, their own
situation, and to share with others ideas that work and succeed so far
as the wider organisation is concerned.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
to help participants understand different approaches to measuring
performance including the use of performance indicators, SERVQUAL and
benchmarking.
to identify the roles of performance measurement in planning and
management of library and information services.
to provide the opportunity to develop performance measures for a
specific service.
to exchange ideas and approaches.
