If it is what I am thinking, that staple of the nursing home and read at
Princess Diana's funeral by her sister then it is, to quote the Daily
Telegraph (5.9.97): "the eight-line stanza beginning "If I should die and
leave you here a while" ... is thought to be by the American poet, Mary Lee
Hall, entitled Turn again to life. (Source confirmed in Granger's poetry
index.) The other room bit comes later. You'll probably find the full text
quoted in one of the newspapers in early Sept. 1997.
Then again it may be "something completely different"!
