Dear All
The Royal Armouries museum is putting on a small exhibition in the New Year
on the execution of Charles I. The designer wants to put a facsimile of the
death warrant on display, complete with the seals of the 59 regicides.
The Bodleian Library has a facsimile, but not the original warrant. Does
anyone know where the original warrant is (Royal Collection? BL? PRO?)
Alternatively, has anyone seen a modern reproduction of the warrant
(complete with seals): and if they have, do they know who made it? I rather
doubt you can buy this sort of thing off the shelf, but you never know...
If anyone can offer any clues, please email me direct and not the list.
Yours
Stephen Howe
