IAML(UK) Courses and Education present:

Advanced Reference Course for Music Librarians
To be held at the Faculty of Music Library, St Aldate's, Oxford on 10
December 1998. The course will give music librarians confidence to use
their reference sources effectively, the ability to choose the
appropriate resources and the opportunity to up-date their knowledge of
printed and electronic information available. The course will cover the
varying needs of the public and academic sectors.
The programme will include talks on: The 'Reference Interview';
Recently published reference tools in music; Electronic resources and
Beat the Panel - a chance to bring along those unanswerable queries, or
the one you spent days over, and see if it could have been answered more
easily.
The training team includes:
John Wagstaff - Librarian of the Faculty of Music, University of Oxford
Julie Crawley - Faculty of Music, Oxford, formerly responsible for
music at Exeter University.
Richard Buxton - Music Librarian, University
of Huddersfield
£30 for members of IAML(UK)
£35 for non-members
Lunch not included. Places limited to a maximum of 20.
