Fellow LIS-LINKers!
We are currently reviewing our weeding criteria at Portsmouth. If
anybody out there would be willing to share their library's weeding
criteria with us, this information would be gratefully received. I'll
summarise responses to the list; anyone wanting their contribution
suppressed should let me know.
There are two areas of particular interest to us. (1) Who removes
candidates for weeding from the shelves? Is this done by subject
specialists or non-professional staff ? (2) Are materials that may be
of historic interest (but not borrowed much, if at all) marked in any
way to prevent them being weeded at a future date?
Lastly, do you have any criteria for weeding non-current periodicals?
Thanking you in anticipation of your help.
Andy
