Information Services Training and IT Vacancies
To support an exciting new initiative, the University
seeks to appoint an IT Training Manager and two IT
trainers based in the new library, to help students
and staff exploit the outstanding IT infrastructure
now in place.
IT Training Manager
£15,407 - £25,360
You should be a graduate in IT or a library and
information science discipline and have experience
in the design and delivery of IT skills training.
You will be innovative, and with excellent team
leadership skills with specific interest in the
development of flexibly delivered generic IT skills
programme materials and assessments. This post is
available on the basis of a fixed-term contract of
3 years.
IT Trainers (2 Posts)
£14,325 - £18,066
You should be an IT literate graduate with a particular
interest in training and development in "baseline" IT
skills for a wide range of learners, from school leavers to
adults returning to study. Experience in delivering IT
training would be desirable. A qualification in IT or a
library and information science related discipline would be
an advantage and candidates should possess excellent
communication and applied IT skills. These posts are
available on the basis of fixed-term contracts of 2 years.

Academic IT Manager
£20,228 - £29,705
The University is seeking to appoint an innovative and
highly motivated person to fill the post of Academic IT
Manager. You should have an appropriate qualification at
degree or post-graduate level. You will be responsible for
the strategic development of the academic IT service and
support including the further development of the recently
implemented desktop IT strategy and the co-ordination and
leadership of the work of the academic IT Support team.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a proven track record in IT
management and development and an ability to motivate staff
are essential requirements for this key post.
Information Assistant (PC and Network Support)
£8,133 - £10,983 (one year fixed term)
For this post in Information Services you should have a
minimum qualification of an ONC, although an HND would be
preferable, in an IT related discipline together with
relevant practical experience. Good interpersonal skills
are essential, as is the ability to work in a team
environment. The Information Assistant (PC and Network
Support) will be required to provide technical and
operational support for a wide range of IT related
equipment, including basic fault diagnosis and upgrading of
PCs, installation of IT related hardware and network
cabling. The successful candidate may also be required to
carry out basic audiovisual duties. Suitably qualified
candidates should find that the post will provide
appropriate initial training and supervision for beginning
a related professional career.
