********APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTINGS********
The Edulib Project Team are pleased to announce that The EduLib Teaching Materials
are now available, namely:
Teaching for Learning in Libraries and Information
Services: a series of educational development workshops
Edited by David McNamara and Jane Core
One free copy will be provided for every higher education institution within the
United Kingdom. These will be sent out from the EduLib Office within the next two
weeks and will be addressed to the ‘Head of Library Services’. The copyright of
this publication is unrestricted for teaching purposes within higher education, but
due acknowledgement of the source of the materials should be given. The materials
comprise of 278 loose leaf pages within a ring binder for easy access and
photocopying.
The EduLib Project has provided courses in teaching and learning for higher education
librarians and information services staff. Some 250 delegates representing two
thirds of the UK higher education institutions have attended our courses. The
publication is provided, in the main, for library and information services staff who
have already attended an EduLib training programme or acquired educational expertise
by some other means, and who have been given responsibility for developing and
disseminating educational expertise and teaching skills among their colleagues.
The materials are not designed as ‘self-study’ packs for individual higher
education librarians who wish to develop their educational roles. Such people may,
however, find the materials a useful source and resource. The materials provide
the basis for nine key workshops on the following themes:
Understanding Learning
The Nature of Teaching
Planning a Teaching and Learning Event
Observing Teaching
Teaching Methods
Reviewing Learning and Assessment
Diversity, Individual Differences and Equality
Information Technology in Learning and Teaching
Open and Distance Learning
Institutions and individual members of staff may wish to
acquire additional copies.
These are now available for UK higher education institutions and staff at a
subsidised price of £42.00 plus £5.00 postage and packing per copy.
