Dear Colleagues,
IBRU receives many requests for obscure boundary-related information.
Usually we can have a stab at an answer but the question that follows
has me absolutely stumped. I imagine that for the majority of the
local population the issue is not terribly relevant, but perhaps it
is more significant than it first appears. If anyone can shed any
(day)light on this intriguing question, please let me know. Does
anyone know of any other disputed territory where there is more than
one official time?

I am looking for information that relates to the use of daylight
savings time in the Halayib triangle, the disputed area between
Sudan and Egypt. Egypt uses daylight savings time; Sudan does not.
I would imagine that if administered by Egypt, the area would
implement daylight savings time, but in view of the events there,
the locals probably don't take the time to do so. Any assistance
that would take this from imagination to fact would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rives McDow <[log in to unmask]>
