For anyone interested in EDI for Pathology Results Transmission
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The attached zip file is the first draft of the
functional specification which is to be used for EDI messaging
between labs and GP practices in the UK. It has been produced by
Denis Bingham on behalf of the NHS-E Enabling Hospitals Project.
It contains references to documents which can be found on
http://www.leeds.ac.uk/acb/pathedi which are the specification for
the receiving systems functionality.
At this stage I am keen to solicit professional opinion on the
content to ensure that all relevant issues have been covered. At the
next stage the specification will be used to generate a technical
specification before moving forward to a procurement exercise with
Pathology system and EDI suppliers.
The dead line for responses is 17.00hrs on th 16/11/98. Please send
these directly to myself on [log in to unmask]

We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the works of Shakespeare. Now
, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.
