I was at AAH Meditel from their start-up as a "free computers for
data"-type company in May 1987 through to the demise of the scheme
some time later.
For most of the last 5 years, I've worked for CompuData Research
Ltd/DIN which, in one sense, took over where AAH Meditel left off,
i.e. collecting anonymised practice data.. In fact the number of
practices/doctors contributing data to the DIN scheme is growing all
the time. There are many hundreds of practices and thousands of GPs
providing data, nightly, electronically, all over the UK.
