They will get the money from the primary care trusts, methinks. The
independent status of GPs is potentially a fault-line in these trusts, which
will have clinical governance, but no real way of enforcing it unless GP
contracts are altered. There will also be anomalies in trust boards if they
have say directly employed nurses on them, indirectly employed GPs and
public representation.

Yes I agree that this sounds good, but what about cost-rents, etc?
A little dickie-birdie has told me that the NHSE has a 'committee'
looking at how to buy out GPs from cost-rent/notional rent so that we
can all be salaried and end independant contractor status. I wonder
where they will get the money from??
