Business Benefits of IT
Which technologies bring realisable benefits to patient care and save money?
Presentations by
Jean Roberts, Director, First Consulting Group
Luke Readman, Head of IM&T, South Manchester Hospitals
With the new focus on IT promoted by the national strategy, all Trusts,
Health Authorities and Primary Care Groups must consider again their
investment in IT.
Can the NHS make effective use of new technology by restructuring care
processes or the business environment and release savings to pay for
investment? Can a business case be made for replacement administrative
systems, results reporting, new prescribing systems, document imaging,
telemedicine, etc. etc.? Can the implementation of ‘level 3 EPR’ be cost
neutral? These and other issues will be considered in an interactive and
practical session.
