Surely, your HA is pulling a fast one over you. PCGs should appoint
their own chief officer. How can a HA claim to be responsible for
appointing someone who will not be accountable to them and in this case
the PCG? Granted that the HA has the machinery to be able to advertise,
expertise on selection and interview procedure to assist the PCG to
appoint the most appropriate person (who may well be a HA employee at
the moment). A member of our PCG has been helping to shortlist the
candidates. The interview panel will consist of a PCG member, the HA
chief executive and one other person which we have yet to decide.
