We're looking at this in Somerset Coast PCG. All a bit fluid at the moment,
but would help when reach Level 4, rather than suddenly having to take over
from Somerset HA for commissioning.

Subject: PCGs setting up companies to handle stuff?
When I say PCGs I may well mean an ad hoc grouping of say 60 or so
GPs and perhaps an arbitrary number of others who simply happen to
be the total membership of a PCG - rather than a sub-committee of
a HA going into business, but does it seem to anyone else a sensible
idea to set up a shell company to handle things better dealt with
commercially, and to make sure that the directors have suitable
scope of free action to maintain the interests of the GPs and any
other shareholders of the PCG.
And has anyone done it yet?
And any examples of particular functions better executed by it?
