One for the collection.
Christmas Eve, and a man was on the way home from the pub. He was well under
the influence and decided to take a short cut across a dark a dark area of
grass between the pub and the house. There was a light coating of snow and
the grass was slippery. Unfortunately in the dark he failed to see a slight
slope down towards some trees and shrubs. Because of the snow he started to
slip down the slope, gaining speed as he went towards the trees. Eventually
he lost control of his feet, and fell forwards towards a small willow tree
that had been cut back and was sending shoots up from the roots. His head
fell between two of these small branches, being forced between them. With
the springiness of young trees they gave sufficiently to allow his neck to
become firmly and symmetrically wedged between, pressing hard on his carotid
arteries. There he was found the following morning.
Bizarre, but true (personally witnessed)
