Scrapping contraception IOS and increasing capitation in potentially
childbearing women patients sounds great but would it fall foul of sex
discrimination legislation?
What about higher capitation for other high workload patients such as
diabetics, asthmatics, hypertensives etc. etc.. Why not just add the money to
BPA and have two levels of BPA, higher for those who choose to offer
contraception advice to BOTH sexes and lower for those who always say " I
couldn't possibly comment on that" when asked a question about contraception.
