Are you sure that GPs make 'diagnosis' in the traditional
medical sense??
Usually the GP is working on treating symptoms as they present.
If its serious then it is usually in its early stages and is
not always recognisable as a 'diagnosis' as such and then the
consultation becomes a set of consultations where the the GP tests
hypotheses using therapuetic/testing options and then at some point
the GP refers to the hospital with 'suspected' MI.
