What you say about "keen to learn from it" is somewhat reassuring.
Guess the phrase I was looking for is: "keen to learn from its history
then we'll scrap it and start afresh by looking at what will make the
GP's work better", and, "no system supplier shall sell a system that is
not based on open industry standards and open platforms".
There are so many other 'mission critical' software applications out
there. Doeas anyone know of an equivalent in those applications
outside the NHS?
The bit about prescribing assurance is a a red herring, Jon. Unless
you are saying that all current systems can be relied upon for an
effective defence against dangerous or harmful prescribing by a
physician.
