Indeed.
One idea I had for incorporation into the diaried prescribing module
is to turn out a list, the week before the prescriptions are due to
be printed in time for the patients to collect them, of the
quantities and names of drugs.
IE the pharmacy just in time ordering system can then be told how
much of various preparations to expect to need in a particular week,
for the regular repeats which make up half the repeats which
themselves make up 70% of our prescriptions.
Not massively useful perhaps, but if Zoladex, a rarely used ACE and
an extemporaneous skin preparation were to be listed it might alert
the pharmacist ...
