Only in the file manager, which does a go slow if it finds a very
populated directory and is asked to show *.*
Mind you that is working to a Netware partition so the file storage
is efficient.
If you are going to divide files into directories then I suggest you
create one directory per patient, and use a semi-automated way of
opening that. You could for instance use a web browser to display
the contents, and then each file in the pateint's folder.
As it gets a larger collection, you might automate the indexing of
the files, producing a single page of pointers for each patient and
perhaps showing the first unpredictable line of content of each file
as a brief indication of its contents.
Some of these files might contain scanned in images as pdf s or
whatever of previously paper notes.
What naming scheme do you use at present for your patient letter
files? (eg mine is 1000.#nn for th nnth letter about apteint 1000)
