I go further than Ewan. Most of the information flows that were
supposed to go by the X400 transmissions on NHS Net mark 1 should in
fact not flow. Therefore much of the standard setting and
compliance testing organisations can make themselves available for
more useful work.
All of this stuff was thought up before the Day It Changed, fits the
old NHS mismanaged by the market deluded idiots of the previous
corrupt administration, rather than the current collection of
delusions and bright ideas of an organisation as yet uncorrupted at
the top, with the bottom still showing resistance even after so many
years, but with a very suspect filling to the sandwhich.
Ditch it. PCGs are SME and need small to medium enterprise sorts of
networking and intranetting. This comes in boxes nowadays.
The function NHS Net should have given us it has never offered -
movement of the whole patient electronic record. There is nothing
else there which is of any value, and the price it is being offered
at is way too high.
Sorry Humphrey, no K to come for that one.
