A knowledge of human nature - the ability to understand and empathise
whilst remaining rational and focused. Being aware of the organismic
quality of life and the importance of all of its nodes in the systemic
network which constitutes the vital nature of human interaction.
Being comfortable with emotion and intellect, recognising that both are
valid qualities which require nurturing and expression to allow growth.
Being apolitical in action, both in the sense of government and the
spiritual ideals.
The courage and the intellect to examine conflict and understand its
nature. The ability to observe without adding too much change. Accepting
diversity and uncertainty as positive values in the dynamic evolution of
process. Being open-minded and bright enough to admit failure as a
necessary ingredient of growth and the vision to learn from it.
Having access to all levels of the network structure and the ability to
communicate. Being able to effect change and growth if necessary. The
vision to see new pathways and the ability to diverge from the old. The
strength to resist the dead weight of tradition and conformity in order
to evolve. The confidence of all levels of the system so that the flow
continues.
In short, only the brightest and the best, rather than the well-meaning
but deaf ears I have personally seen.
As a matter of interest, I believe that someone like Clive Froggat would
make a good candidate from what I hear.
Regards
George
