Before you start, think of *exactly* what you want to do
We're into our second scanner because of this - and I've now got a much
happier staff member!
Do you want to use it for scanning large numbers of letters?
Wil you be scanning to save images, or is this something to import text
into the EPR?
Are you going to be scanning books as well as single sheets?
If you need pictures and books, then a flatbed is essential - but it's
much slower for letters and large volumes than a single sheet feed
to quote from our in-house user...
>we have just changed to a "paperport strobe" scanner
>which runs "Visioneer" software. this is a paper feed system
>by hand, and allows you to scan fast. Approx 50 pagfes 10/15 mins.
...
You still have to edit
>through word and put into pt record - this is what takes the time.

Hope this helps,
