BMJ today, page 1257, 'GP's in england will receive advice about
PCG's': there is a telephone number to ring: 0845 303 3221.
Got straight through to a Peter Corpe, a 'main man' on the GPC,
'secretary' or something.
Heavily berated the GPC. Heavily critisised them for encouraging GP's
to co-operate with PCG's even though the GPC says the remuneration
rates are inadequate and that the payments should be superannuable.
So why co-operate I said, are they negotiating for us or the
Government? Why should I work more hours at a lesser rate with no
superan than I get now for commissioning work now, which is
superannuable? (I'm the Co-Chairman of the Rotherham Commissioning
Group). He didn't have an answer. I said I would not be taking up my
seat on my PCG board if they didn't get this sorted out. Not
boasting I said this will be a loss to my PCG.
Write to me he said and I'll pass it on to Chisholm.

If you think that the GPC is not serving your/our best interests then
call and email the GPC.
I may have to consider with holding my voluntary levy payments.
