Radical is the last thing you want in this situation.
This is what I would do: Risk's seven steps to heaven!
1. Determine the personalities and mode of working of the 7 members:
e.g., do they prefer to do PCG business from work or home?
2. Get the 7 together in a nice place to have lunch/dinner and a small
workshop to determine training needs and desired standard followed by
another to bring up to agreed standard (I can arrange if you wish).
Could be done in one setting. The nice place would help the non-linear
understanding
3. At the workshop, discuss hardware, software and access solutions
(one would need to look at the different modes of work and existing
facilities)
4. Discuss exact communications needs and determine which horse for
which course (doesn't have to be all on line!)
5. Start with simple solutions and scale up as and when required
6. Solution ownership by the group is paramount
7. Call me for specifics
