Thanks, Chris, for the pointer. We should all follow the inquiry.
This inquiry, along with other fundamental changes (for example, the
newly formulated consultant merit awrads reform and the rumours about
the NHS offering substantial incentives (bribes?) to consultants to
give up the right to private practice) will have dramatic effects on
the profession.
Things will never be the same again. May be.
The government took on the GPs and the GPs buckled under. It seems now
that the government and the consultants are squaring up for what could
be a very brutal fight.
We shall see.
