<<
not necessarily emotionally immature - but of a different emotional
make-up.>>
No I think it *is* emotionally immature to be an experienced doctor and
meet an ex-colleague in the street and have obvious difficulty talking to
him. I don't really care because I know who my friends are.
<<You would know them or get to know them.
They would provide your general medical care as your GP, but instead of
them being rooted, you become the place of work.>>
OK that is fine, I am happy with that, I thought that the service would be
something to access only in times of crisis.
<<Having gone through all that you have, do you not think you are able to
understand many stresses and strains the rest of us face?
Do you not think a word or too of advice and/or comfort from you would
be helpful to other doctors?
Now you have moved outside the system can you not see the situation
objectively? Would you not be a good person to advise the decision
makers on how an *occupational health* service should operate?>>
All in good time KT, all in good time. I do agree with all of that. Re
your last point on advising the decision makers, I would love to do the
sums properly to show the loss of public money caused by doctor illness due
to work. If anything has any figures which might be helpful in that
calculation, could I have them? Private e-mail if you prefer.
