We have employed a 'casualty' nurse for the past 10 months. She was
previously very experienced in this work at a local minor injuries unit at a
community hospital. The number of attendances at our local A&E dept has gone
down..by a significant margin but we are still waiting to see if that is the
same for all local practices or just ours. I was not personally involved the
setting up of any protocols but would be happy to talk or pass you on to our
