What do people on the group think about deals to parity.
I have been touring the country far and wide for interviews.
The glossy mags and VTS grapevines would have you believe that parity
is being given away in the current job climate, buyers market etc.
etc.
In my experience could not be further from the situation.
In various parts of the country the deal on the table has been the
traditional 50% and parity in 3 yrs, with a tiny bit of scope for
negotiation in an upwards direction.
So is all the hype about 75% and 1 yr a load of bollocks or am I
looking at the wrong jobs?
How long does it really take to be doing an equal share of the
workload and admin etc. bearing in mind that most people are on shared
lists?
Not very long I suspect.
I get the feeling there is more than a little of the "well I had to do
it so so should you" mentality much like the view of the ageing
consultant regarding his juniors (the only thing wrong with a 1 in 2
is that you miss half of the interesting patients etc.).
So what do you think?
While I'm here doctor can I just ask, does anyone know of a nice area
in the St Albans vicinity where a poor northern doc on 50% and 3yrs
can buy something more comfortable than a large garden shed?
