That is of course true and explains why people with company cars get taxed. If
we accept that payment in kind has a value & that GP remuneration is not open
ended it then follows that the value of the benefits in kind will be
subtracted from any future remuneration increases and would be taxed too.
The only way round this is either:-
1. GPs become true employees OR
2. HMG decided it wanted to do something to placate the anger at low actual
pay rises.
