The point is that we have clung onto the quaint idea that we are all self
employed. I can't think of any other situation where the tax payer pays for an
occupational health service for those they don't employ. I could understand
the argument if the profession bit the bullet & asked to be employed but at
the moment it sounds like the old case of wanting your cake and eating it.
