Unfortunately yes:-(
There is no real problem with consent IMHO. Answering questions to
the police is incumbent on us all in these matters. I refer you to
child abuse as another example.
Actually had an even worse situation as I thought that one of my
patients *was* a murderer! Spoke to the MPS who advised me to speak
hypothetically to the police. Fortunately my patient didn't fit the
description.
