Absolutely.
That is why we need a *doctors for doctors* system.
This need not be based upon traditional lines.
Currently one registers with gp in area where live.
If one needs privacy one is forced to travel out of area - both time
consuming , demoralising and often impractical.
So ... a company is set up specifically for the purpose of caring for
the medical profession (doctors initially).
This is a nationwide company that takes it services to the doctor,
rather than the other way round.
Rather like a co-op/deputising doc has driver, equipped car etc. these
doctors are mobile, connected using best IT, accessible from our own
consulting rooms or homes, and records that may be required are kept
centrally, away from prying eyes.
This way gets over confidentiality, notes storage and making time to
travel out of area.
It also means the doctors employed by this company are specialists in
the work they do - they always look after doctors, they therefore get to
know the problems inside out, know and understand their patients and are
not fazed by treating a colleaugue.
Obviously there are logistic problems in setting this up, but surely it
is the only way we can be assured of quality care for ourselves that
gives as much privacy and respect as possible?
