Well, yes, but it's the possible results of *doing your own thing* once
there are guidelines that worries me.
Of course we all want to do the best thing for our patients - but I do
not believe guidelines can reflect the whole variety of patients
illnesses and situations.
How do I know that the bases of the recommendations are in any way
similar or representative of my patients?
Will we have to explain to our patients that the guidelines say one
thing, our instinct (sixth sense) says another and let them choose by so
called *informed consent*?
