>From this week's Computerworld
<<With interest rates at astonishing lows, mortgage
companies are turning to technology to keep up with a
flood of business. Videoconferencing and online loan
applications speed the process, but not all lenders are
on board. Unlike credit cards, mortgage applications
require human intervention. New technology can overload
them and the older systems they depend on.

Ref what Midge was saying on using technology to make discussion a bit
easier.
95% of the problem is psychology; 5% is technology.
I faxed my mobile phone airtime provider three days ago to terminate my
contract---not complaining about them but my resignation makes it necessary
to hand over the phone (bought by the health board) to my replacement.
Today they rang me to tell me I had to terminate in writing. ie by snail
mail. So I printed out my fax, signed it and posted it. What a load of
crap!
