At the moment we're in the ludicrous position of using GP's time to help

Use the greatest computer in the world, the human brain.
Don't get too worried about the odd variation, double the time for the blood
test to be repeated every time you have two consecutive readings in range. Try
to interfere as little as possible, use sub-optimal ranges for the elderly.
Don't try too hard and it will come right in the end.
That's my way of doing it and it works. Stats available on request.
