Hi All
Would anyone be kind enough to remind me of why Health Authorities were
introduced? What exactly was wrong with the old FPC system that has been
resolved by this tier of management? We still have the support agencies
dealing with registration, IOS, etc!
People have expressed scepticism about Ahmad's "Firm" ideals so here is an
alternative for possible expansion - none original but rather drawing from a
number of threads.
1) Scrap PCGs _now_
2) Open admission from HMG that the NHS is strapped for cash and something
needs to be done - *Long-term*
3) Scrap HA's to assist in short-term funding problems by reducing
management costs coincidentally improving morale by negating the need for
all the tosh they currently require from us.
4) Abolish internal market for purchasing secondary care and revert to
regional allocations
5) Instigate Royal Commission to quantify problems of funding, manpower,
morale, etc. with input from all stakeholders
6) HMG and Professions agree to be bound by the findings however unpopular
with the electorate
7) Responsibility of Clinical Governance or other fashionable acronym passed
to the Profession as self-regulatory
