At last some numbers
These guys are talking averages of 10 visits / week (2 per day if I'm
not mistaken) to an average of only 4 different patients per week on a
list size of 2100.
I agree with the common sense behind some of the rants here, I still
see a need for some home visits (housebound elderly, terminal etc) and
am steadily applying downward pressure on the number of visits I / my
practice do. BUT at the end of the day this guy we're debating with
does less house calls than me (and I suspect most GPs and even most
list members - certainly the PN visiting ones!)
OK I know GP-UK isn't the place for calm debate and compromise :)
And for a positive thing (for patients!), how many extra appts DO
(rather than COULD) people provide since cutting down visits?
