Adrian,
Like you I am a single-hander & I would be concerned that small practices will
just disappear completely, and I like to think that we do offer something.
Perhaps one should just consider the individual practice as a branch of the
Firm and most commercial ventures have large and small branches - although
rarely competing for business side by side.
In terms of articles of association you need something on the lines of "human
rights." The right to stay a small practice and not be penalised by financial
means in doing so I would guess.
<< I am talking of a less messianic idea than Ahmad, >>
..and altogether more deliverable. Almost by definition the PCG will be the
basis of the Firm and what you describe is one possible course of natural
evolution, and not an artificial creation. We know from nature that species
which have evolved have tended to survived, but those hybrids created
artificially are usually infertile and die off.
