Of course, it won't happen before April 99. Neither will PCGs be
properly ready by then!

Sorry to disappoint you but here are some figures from this list alone:
Of those who replied to my 'job description' there were 12 who wanted
to sign on and 2 'may be'.
That does not include those who have already left and a small number
who are fed up but have not answered the question about the 'new job'.
17 people (including maybes and left), therefore, would leave the NHS
given the 'right job' outside it.
Assuming there are 400 GPs on this list, I make that just over 4%.
That figure was achieved without really trying too hard, no publicity
at all and based on few lines of text. As such, it would extrapolate
to over 1300 GPs nationwide.
Imagine this:
Massive PR campaign of recriutment with a target start date of January
2000.
