Looking at Mr Dobson's thoughts reported on the front page of the
Independent today, perhaps having considered conscription of junior
doctors he will extend this rather more logically to nurses - who
have long been more prone to leaving the NHS and thus "wasting"
their training.
So the nurse shortage could melt away as a legion of nurses are
called back away from their children or management posts, occupation
health jobs etc and placed at the disposal of the increasingly
power-crazed NHS management.
The solution of culling the latter and replacing it and its culture
by one which is either competent or congenial seems to be further
down the list, but you never know...
